How many questions are on the CSM exam and how long is it?

The CSM exam has 50 multiple-choice questions and a time limit of 60 minutes. It is taken online without a proctor within 90 days of completing your approved CSM course.

What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

The passing score is 74 percent, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. The exam is open book, so you can refer to materials during the test.

Do I need to attend a course to take the CSM exam?

Yes. Attendance at an approved CSM course delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer is mandatory. The exam cannot be accessed until you have completed the course, after which it unlocks in your Scrum Alliance member account.

What happens if I do not pass the CSM exam first time?
