You need 74% to pass, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. The open-book format lets you refer to your materials during the exam.

What if I do not pass the CSM exam on the first attempt?

Where and when do I take the CSM exam?

You take the CSM exam online through your Scrum Alliance member portal within 90 days of completing the course. There is no test center visit; you can sit it from home or the office.

Do I need prior experience to take the CSM course?

No. There is no formal education or work experience requirement. The CSM is designed for people new to Scrum as well as those formalizing hands-on experience, so beginners are welcome.

What learning resources are provided?

You receive Scrum Alliance aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions mapped to the exam format, and trainer-led discussions and exercises that connect Scrum theory to real delivery scenarios.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest Scrum Guide?

Yes. The courseware follows the Scrum Alliance CSM Learning Objectives and the current Scrum Guide (November 2020), so you learn Scrum exactly as the governing body defines it.

What do I receive after passing the CSM exam?
